Review Canon PowerShot G10

Very cool.  The new big boy point and shoot is now available.  Coming off of the big success of the Powershot G9, Canon has released the Powershot G10.  It now has 14.7 mega pixels, Digic 4 processor which makes the camera faster, gives better exposure, and greatly improves the already impressive face detection system.  It has a five times optical zoom starting at 28mm for nice wide views. 

The Canon Powershot digital cameras rarely dissapoint.  This is no exception.  The big 3.0 inch LCD monitor is the sharpest I have seen on a compact camera of any type.  The top of the camera sports an exposure comp. dial on the left and a combo ISO/mode dial on the right giving it a retro but extreamly usable feel.  The macro lens ability goes all the way to 0.4 in!!  Like most compacts, SD memory cards are the norm.  Unlike most compacts, the G10 stores big 14.7 MP raw files.  Better get a big SD memory card, like a 16 or 32 megabyte!  It’s a good thing that Sandisk Cards are on special!
